Officers investigating an assault at Coventry station are today releasing an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection.

On the evening of Saturday 1 August, the victim was travelling by train from Birmingham New Street to Coventry.

On-board the service, the victim had a conversation with a man about the way he was speaking to the person travelling with the man.

The victim got off the train at Coventry station and, as he left the station at 9.40pm, was pushed from behind by the man he had a conversation with on the train. This caused the victim to fall forwards onto the road suffering injuries to his face, hands and legs.

The man then re-entered the station and boarded a train destined for Birmingham.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could assist their investigation.
