Appeal after racial abuse on train between Rotherham and Sheffield, one man arrested

British Transport Police are today appealing for witnesses after a man was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated offence on a train as it passed between Rotherham and Sheffield.
The incident happened at 8.30am on Thursday 25 June.
A man is reported to have been racially abusive to a woman on the train.
The train was a Northern Rail service from Doncaster to Sheffield.
A 38-year-old man from Sheffield was arrested in connection with the offence. He has since been released under investigation.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the offence.
