Appeal for dash cam footage after £20k criminal damage to railway - Sheffield

British Transport Police are today appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after up to £20,000 worth of damage was caused to railway equipment in Sheffield.

The incident happened between 9pm and 9.30pm on Saturday 30 May on an area of railway close to Twentywell Lane in Dore and Totley.

Railway equipment had been damaged, rendering it inoperable and costing around £20,000 to repair.

A man was seen walking away from the location wearing an orange hi-vis vest and a face mask. He was carrying a tool box.

Around the same time frame a small blue car was seen entering and leaving the location. 

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident.

They also request any dash cam footage from anyone travelling in either the direction of Twentywell Lane or towards the junction with Abbeydale Road around the time of the incident.
