Arson at Moorside station

Officers are investigating after the ticket officer at Moorside Station in Swinton was set on fire.
The incident happened on Monday, 17 February, at around 1.30am.

Firefighters were called to the recently refurbished station following reports of a fire.
The ticket office was well ablaze on their arrival and the total cost of damage is estimated to be more than £500,000.

The source of the fire is believed to be two blue wheelie bins that were set ablaze and then moved into the empty ticket office.
