British Transport Police are today releasing CCTV image after luggage was stolen containing property worth more than £2000 on a train to Wigan.

The incident happened at around 9.45pm on Friday 20 December. 

The luggage contained a Yamaha clarinet valued at £1,000, a laptop and a number of Transformers figures. 

Officers would like to speak to the man in the image who was pictured at Wigan North Western station.
They believe he has information that could help their investigation.

The man was then seen to board a service heading towards Liverpool Lime Street.
