Car struck by train at on level crossing in Wokingham, Berkshire

Officers were called just before midnight on Thursday 19 December 2019, to reports of a car being struck by a train on a level crossing on Waterloo Road in Wokingham, Berkshire. 

Fortunately, no one was injured and the driver of the vehicle was able to escape the car before it was struck. 

The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of drink drinking and endangering safety on the railway. He remains in police custody as enquiries continue.
