A drug dealer has been jailed and forced to hand over more than £4,000 in cash after being arrested in York.
British Transport Police officers searched Qays Akhtar at York station following suspicions he was carrying drugs in June 2018.
They found a few hundred in cash, cannabis and three phones containing evidence of drug dealing.
A search of his home in Grasmere Avenue in Wembley, London, found cash totalling £4,280.
It was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act after being linked to drugs. The cash he was carrying at the time of his arrest was also seized under the Act.
Akhtar, 25, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
He was also found guilty of breaching a suspended sentence he received in 2018 for assault.
He was jailed for two years and six months at York Crown Court on Friday 8 November.
