Detectives investigating a  nasty assault on board a Victoria Line train in north London are today appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

The assault happened at approximately 7.40am during the heat of the morning rush hour on 16 September, between Walthamstow Central and Blackhorse Road

The victim, a man in his thirties, asked another man to be quiet after he was shouting loudly. The man then punched the victim several times to his head, causing a cut to his inner lip, laceration to his eyebrow and a dislodged tooth.

A 28-year-old man from Walthamstow was later arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm. He has since been bailed as further enquiries continue.

Given that this incident happened during rush hour, officers are aware a number of other passengers witnessed what happened. If you were on board and saw what happened, please contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 1900080072.
