Witness plea after train guard assaulted at Pencoed Station

 Police are appealing for witnesses after a train guard was assaulted at Pencoed rail station.

The 47-year-old woman, suffered deep tissue damage and extreme bruising to her upper body, in the attack, which happened at 11 pm on Saturday 22 September.

The victim, a train guard, was on the platform at Pencoed station helping passengers to get off a train which was due to depart the station. As the doors were closing a man ran towards the train guard in an attempt to get onto the train, knocking the victim out of his way.

The man then got off the train and threw the contents of his drink over her before leaving the station.

The man is described as white, around 18-years-old, with a slim build, short black hair and wearing dark coloured trousers and black shoes.
