Extinction Rebellion protest at Canary Wharf - London

Shortly after 7.15am this morning (25/04) officers from British Transport Police were called to Canary Wharf station after a number of protesters climbed on top of a Docklands Light Railway (DLR) service. 

Specialist units trained in protester removal were immediately deployed and have now safely removed those obstructing the DLR service.
Six people have been arrested on suspicion of obstructing the railway, and are being taken into police custody. 
1. A 46-year-old man from London
2. A 51-year-old man from Holmfirth 
3. A 37-year-old man from Northampton 
4. A 55-year-old woman from Hook
5. An 83-year-old man from Bristol 
6. A 60-year-old woman from Filton

Officers will continue to work alongside the Metropolitan Police Service, City of London Police and TfL to keep transport disruption in London to a minimum.
