Stone thrown at Selkirkshire train causing thousands in damages – Scotland

BTP officers are appealing for information after a stone was thrown at the windscreen of a train causing thousands of pounds in damage in Galahiels, Selkirkshire.

The incident happened at 3.45pm on Monday 18 February as the train pulled into Galashiels train station.

A boy is reported to have thrown a stone at the train and cracked the windscreen. The windscreen will cost £3,200 to replace.

The boy was with two girls. All are believed to be aged between 15 and 16-years-old. The group was stood on a pathway next to the railway line.

The girls are described as having brown hair with blonde streaks. Both were wearing large tracksuit tops which almost reach their knees. One of the girl’s tracksuits was green and black with a hood and had Adidas branding.
