Appeal for witnesses after member of staff assaulted during altercation - Thirsk

Officers are today appealing for witnesses after a violent altercation at Thirsk station which led to a member of security staff being assaulted.

On 15 December at approximately 9.10pm two men began fighting on board a Transpennine Express train from York to Middlesborough.

The altercation spilled onto the platform at Thirsk station, where a number of other men and women became involved.

The group were separated by security staff, when one man kicked a member of security staff in the back of the leg twice.

A woman also spat in the direction of other passengers and at the train.

The group left at Thirsk station.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information.
