Leaflets set on fire in station waiting room – Haltwhistle, Northumberland

Officers investigating an arson where leaflets were set on fire in a waiting room at Haltwhistle station are today appealing for information. 

At approximately 8pm on 22 October, a group of up to six youths piled up a number of leaflets in the waiting room and then set fire to them. This caused damage to the wall and seating area in the waiting room. 

The building is Grade 2 listed. 

Officers are keen to speak with anyone who was at the station and saw the youths setting fire to leaflets. They are also keen to speak with anyone who knows who is responsible.
