British Transport Police (BTP) are appealing for witnesses following the theft of car parts at Appley Bridge railway station.

The incident took place on Tuesday 11 September between 7.30am and 6.30pm.

An Audi A3 which was parked at the station, had its  passenger window smashed. After smashing the window it is believed that the suspect has searched through the car to find the locking wheel nuts, to unlock and remove four alloy wheels.

After the wheels were removed, the vehicle, which was parked on the Wigan bound platform, was found resting on the floor – causing further damage.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
