Child assaulted on board London Overground train - Canada Water

Detectives investigating an assault on board a London Overground train heading between Sydenham to Dalston Junction are today appealing for witnesses. 
 
At approximately 7.40pm on 16 September, a man and a woman repeatedly struck a child, at one point removing a shoe to hit the youngster. It is believed the man and woman left the service at Canada Water station. 
 
The man was black, believed to be in his late thirties to early forties and was 6 foot tall. He was of slim build, scruffy and was wearing black clothes. 
 
The woman was black, of average build with short dark hair. She is believed to be in her mid-thirties and wore a black jacket. 

Officers are today appealing for any witnesses who were on board this train and saw what happened. Likewise, if you know someone matching the above description, please get in touch.
