Detectives investigating an aggressive public order incident on board a train from Cardiff Central station are today appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

Whilst on board the 5.18pm service from Cardiff Central to Maesteg on Thursday 6 September, a man started being verbally abusive to two women. He was shouting and using foul language making them feel uncomfortable.

They both left the train before it departed Cardiff.

During the journey the man then became abusive once more to other passengers, this time intimating he had a knife and being threatening. The train was then brought back into Cardiff Central due to technical issues with the service.

At Cardiff Central station a 17-year-old man from Bridgend was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence. He has been released under police investigation whilst enquires continue.

Officers are today appealing for witnesses to this man's behaviour to get in touch. In particular, they would like to hear from the two passengers who left the service at Cardiff Central, before it departed.
