Sexual assault - on board a train between Glasgow Central and Newcastle Central

Police are appealing for any witness`s following a sexual assault that took place on board a train between Glasgow Central and Newcastle Central.

 

The incident took place on Thursday 16 August between 6.45pm and 7.45pm, during which a man made inappropriate comments to a group of woman and then touched another woman inappropriately.

 

The incident happened near to Berwick-upon-Tweed.

 

Police officers attended where a 29-year-old man from Newcastle upon Tyne was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and sexual assault. He has been released under police investigation the investigation continues.

 

Officers are making a number of enquiries into this incident but are today appealing for further witnesses and the victims to get in touch.
