Officers are releasing images after a 25-year-old man was assaulted inside St Paul’s London Underground station.

At approximately 11.45pm on 11 July, the victim alighted at St Pauls station, after feeling unwell on a westbound Central Line train.

As he was walking down the platform, he was approached by a man who asked to take a photo with him. Whilst taking the photo, the man knocked the victim’s sunglasses to the ground.

When the man was walking away, the victim noticed that the man was now wearing his sunglasses, so he confronted him. In response, the man became verbally aggressive and punched the victim on the head which knocked him unconscious to the ground.

The victim was left with a minor head injury.

Officers would like to speak with the man in the CCTV images as they believe he may have information which could help with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016, with reference 296 of 12 July. Or you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Note to Editors: Second Photo is non-CCTV.
