Sexual assault on platform at Newton station – South Lanarkshire

Detectives investigating a sexual assault are today appealing for the victim and witnesses to get in touch. 

At approximately 9.45pm on 28 July, a passenger on a platform at Newton station saw a man approach a woman and sexually assault her by touching her inappropriately.
 
Other passengers have since contacted BTP to report this matter. However, the victim - who is believed to be in her teens - is yet to report the incident to police. 
 
Officers are today appealing for any other witnesses to get in touch, likewise if you are the victim in this case then please get in touch as soon as possible.  

The suspect is white, of slim build and had short dark hair. He had facial stubble and was wearing a black hooded top with a large white Adidas logo on, black skinny ripped jeans and black shoes.
