Fresh witness appeal following collision on level crossing – Suffolk

Officers investigating a collision involving a car and a train at a level crossing in Trimley St Martin are today appealing for new witnesses to get in touch. 

Shortly after 11am on 9 June, a car was struck by a train at Thorpe Lane level crossing. The occupants of the vehicle, a man and a child were taken to hospital for assessment but were later discharged. 
The driver of the vehicle has since been interviewed under caution in relation to this incident. 
Today, officers investigating this collision are appealing for fresh witnesses to get in touch. In particular, they are looking to speak with a cyclist seen near to the level crossing at the time of the impact. Likewise, anyone who saw a grey Peugeot 307 outside the Hand in Hand public house in Trimley St Martin shortly before the collision should get in touch.
