Officers from British Transport Police are issuing a warning today after a man placed a traffic barrier over a level crossing.

The incident happened shortly after 11pm on 28 May at Lincoln High Street level crossing.

The man drags the plastic barrier along the street, and then leaves it on the tracks at the level crossing.

PC Helen Green, from BTP, said: “This was a silly thing to do and  whilst I am confident this wouldn’t have resulted in a serious incident, this man’s behaviour did delay services into Lincoln.

“Please don’t be encouraged by this man’s behaviour, placing items on the tracks is a reckless thing to do and we will not tolerate it.”

Officers continue to make enquiries regarding this incident and would ask anyone with information to contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 727 of 28/05/2018.
