Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after a vintage vehicle was stolen from the car park at Staplehurst railway station.

The green Morris Minor van, made in 1965, was stolen at around 11.30am on 17 May.

The van was later seen on the same day in nearby Marden village, where it is described as being driven erratically before entering an estate in the village.

Investigator Steve Foster is investigating the theft and said: “The owner of this van has had it for 20 years – he had the original van restored and modified, and used it daily. His children grew up with the project and it is held with very special regard by the whole family.

“CCTV enquiries have now uncovered an image of a man who we believe may have more information about this theft, and I would urge anyone who knows his identity to contact us.”

Anyone with info is urged to call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text officers on 61016, ref 142 of 17/05/18. Alternatively, details can also be passed anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
