Member of staff assaulted on train at Sheffield station – South Yorkshire

Officers from British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch after an altercation on a train at Sheffield. 

At approximately 6.46pm on 18 May, a train guard challenged a man’s behaviour after he barged past her on board the train. The man became aggressive to the member of staff, abusing her and grabbing her forcibly on the arm. 

Police were called but the man had left the train at Sheffield station. He is described as a white man, aged in his 30s to 40s, he had short brown hair and was clean shaven. He was wearing blue jeans, a red checked shirt and brown jacket. He was also carrying a brown leather bag. 

Officers are looking to trace any witnesses to this altercation, likewise anyone knowing someone matching the above description is urged to get in touch.
