Officers from British Transport Police are looking to identify him after a member of staff was assaulted.

The incident happened on board a Northern service travelling between Middlesbrough and Marske stations on Monday 4 June.

At approximately 5.20pm, the train guard knocked on the toilet door as a man had been in there for some time. The man inside became immediately abusive towards the guard, on two occasions he attempted to headbutt the member of staff.

The man then used his bag to deliberately barge into the guard, causing him to stumble backwards. The suspect then leaves the train at Marske, where he continues to be abusive to the member of staff.

Officers believe the man shown in this CCTV image may have information which could help them investigate.
