Witnesses sough to altercation outside Torre station – Torquay

Detectives investigating an assault at Torre station are today appealing for witnesses to get in touch. 

Shortly after 1am on Saturday 2 June, a woman in her 30s was involved in a verbal altercation with a man outside the station. The woman was assaulted by this man during this altercation, where she sustained a broken nose. 

She was taken to hospital for treatment. 

Officers are hoping to trace anyone who was at Torre station during the early hours of Saturday morning, who may have seen what happened. If you were at the station and saw what happened, or if you live locally and heard any raised voices, please get in touch.

Witnesses are urged to contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 35 of 02/06/2018. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. 

In connection with this incident a 40-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He was released under policing investigation whilst enquiries continue.
