Appeal for information following assault – Pontypridd station

We are appealing for information following an assault on board an Arriva Trains Wales service between Treforest and Pontypridd station.

The incident occurred between 5.40pm and 6.10pm on Sunday 13 May.

During the journey a man and a woman had a verbal altercation. The altercation intensified with the man grabbing the woman, the woman then struck the man with a bottle.

Other passengers and rail staff intervened to separate the man and woman.

Officers would like to speak with those who may have witnessed the incident and have any information which could help with the investigation.

A 39-year-old man from Treforest was arrested on suspicion of Common Assault. He was released under policing investigation whilst enquiries continue.
