Appeal for information following affray – Market Harborough

Officers are appealing for information following a fight on board a train at Market Harborough which resulted in two men being injured.

The incident took place at approximately 8.00pm on Saturday 5 May.

On board an East Midlands train travelling from Leicester to London, an fight escalated between two groups. As the train pulled into Market Harborough, the fight spilled out onto the platform.

It is believed the fight involved supporters from Luton Town FC following a match with Nott’s County.

Police attended and disrupted the fight, no arrests were made at the time and the train was escorted to London.

Two men received minor injuries during the altercation with one requiring stitches above his eyebrow from a thrown glass bottle.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward who may have information which could help with the investigation.
