CCTV images released following attempted cable theft– Wednesbury

Officers are today releasing CCTV images following an attempted theft of railway cabling near Wednesbury.

The incident occurred around 12.55am on Monday 9 April, on Kendricks Road, Wednesbury.

Two men were captured by CCTV images removing concrete lids which protects signalling cable. The two men were then seen pulling at the cables in an attempt to remove it.

Fortunately, the cables were not damaged and railway services remained undisrupted.

Officers would like to speak with the two men in the CCTV images as they may have information which could help with the investigation.

Likewise, anyone who was in the area at the time and saw two men acting suspiciously are urged to get in touch.
