Appeal for information following Criminal Damage – Denaby

Officers are appealing for information after railway cabling was significantly damaged.

The incident occurred between 7pm and 7.30pm on Monday 16 April near Denaby level crossing in Doncaster.

Officers were initially called to reports of a cable theft at the level crossing, however when they arrived on scene the cabling was on fire. It is believed that the cables were set alight deliberately.

The damage to the cable caused severe delays to the rail network with the damage estimated to be £42,000.

Officers are appealing for anybody to come forward with information who may have seen or heard anything unusual at the time of the incident.
