Officers are appealing for information following an incident where a man was seen to be in possession of a gun at Basildon rail station.

The incident happened on Wednesday 4 April between 5.40am and 5.50am.

A man and a woman entered the station at around 5.45am. The man approached the ticket line and spoke with a staff member and then forced his way through the barrier.

He was told to leave the station when he reached the platform.
