Homophobic assault - Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston

Officers are appealing for information following a homophobic assault.

The incident happened on 25 March at 9pm on the 8.47pm train service from Liverpool Lime Street to London Euston.

A 34-year-old man was helping a female passenger with Facebook on her mobile phone. He was approached by a man who was intoxicated. The man touched the victim on his chest and when the victim tried to remove the man’s hand he was subjected to homophobic abuse.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on the service and witnessed the incident to come forward.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for a public order offence in connection with this incident. He has been released under investigation.
