A security guard at Birmingham New Street was threatened with a knife – and we’d like to speak to this man in connection.

At around 6.30pm on Wednesday 28 March, a man was spotted stealing items from Boots in the station.

When he tried to leave the shop, the security guard stopped him and made him return the goods. The offender then showed the guard an orange knife in his pocket and told him to let him go, adding “don’t follow me”.

It left the security guard very shaken.

Officers would like to speak to the man in this image as they believe he may have information which could help the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016, with reference 494 of 28 March.
