A 63-year-old man who suffered a medical episode during an incident at Headcorn station on Friday has sadly died in hospital.
 
His family have been informed and are being supported by a specialist officer. They would like to express their thanks to everyone who assisted the man at the scene and provided medical support.
 
We are still working to establish the circumstances leading up to his death and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact BTP by calling 0800 40 50 40 or texting 61016, with reference 224 of 30/3.
 
4PM UPDATE:
 
Officers from BTP have been investigating since receiving reports of a serious assault at Headcorn station this morning.
 
After reviewing CCTV and speaking with witnesses, it is now believed that a man suffered a medical episode after a verbal altercation outside the station.
 
It is no longer thought that the man, who remains in hospital in a serious condition, was physically assaulted.
 
There have been no arrests in relation to this incident.

2PM: 
 
We were called at 11.58am to reports that there had been a serious assault in the car park at Headcorn station.
 
One man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
 
There have not currently been any arrests but officers are conducting a full investigation and the area is likely to remain closed for some time.
