Officers are appealing for information following a series of thefts at Warrington Bank Quay.

The incident happened on 8 February between 4.40pm and 5.10pm.

A man entered WHSmiths and used distraction tactics to steal items from the shop.

He then went on to proceed to place a charity box, which was located on the counter, on its side and used what is believed to a knife to gain access from the bottom of the box, before removing all the coins and replacing it to give the impression that there was no damage.

He then moved upstairs to a coffee shop where he went on to steal more items.

Officers would now like to speak to the man in the CCTV image who they believe has information that could help with the investigation.

Anyone with information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting reference 436-080218.
