Violent disorder between football fans – Barnsley

Officers investigating a large violent disorder on board a train at Barnsley are today appealing for witnesses to get in touch. 

At approximately 12.15pm to 12.35pm on 17 March, a number of Millwall football fans were on board a train which had originated from Sheffield. When the service arrived at Chapeltown station, a number of Sheffield Wednesday fans also joined the train. 

Between Chapeltown and Barnsley there were multiple reports of a large disorder between the two rival teams. Officers are now looking to speak with anyone who was on board the train and hasn’t yet spoken with police.
