We are appealing for witnesses after a woman was head-butted on a train in Wales.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm – 7.10pm on Sunday 4 March, on board a train between Llanelli and Carmarthen.

A man sat next to a 19-year-old woman, who he knew, and spoke to her. They became involved in an altercation and he head-butted her.

The train was met at Carmarthen by officers.

A 21-year-old man from Carmarthen has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released under investigation.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident. Officers believe there were around five other passengers in the train carriage who may have seen the assault and have not yet come forward to speak to police.
