Man fined for assaulting rail staff - London

A man has been fined hundreds of pounds for assaulting a member of rail staff.

Tony Ambrose, aged 27, of Cambeys Road, Dagenham, pleaded guilty to one count of assault by beating.

He was sentenced at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 5 February.

The incident happened on 28 July last year at Monument underground station.

Ambrose was arguing with a man on a District Line train. When the member of rail staff arrived to ask the men to stop, Ambrose attacked him. He punched him in the face.

He then carried on fighting.

Ambrose was ordered to pay a fine of £242, compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 costs to the CPS.
