The Police Appeal Tribunal has ruled that a former BTP constable should be reinstated to his role with the force.

Former PC Kerry Reynolds was dismissed from BTP in May 2017, after an independent panel determined that he had used unnecessary, unreasonable and disproportionate use of force.

It related to an incident at King’s Cross station in February 2016.

The former PC attended a police appeal tribunal on 21 February, to appeal against this dismissal.

The Police Appeal Tribunal ruled that he should be reinstated to his former position within London, with a sanction of a final written warning, rather than dismissal.

BTP is now considering legal advice regarding this ruling and is in contact with all those affected by the decision to ensure support is available.
