Officers investigating an assault on board a train at Trowbridge station are today releasing CCTV images in connection.

The assault happened at approximately 6pm on 26 January as a train was preparing to leave. A man and his friends forced open the train doors, despite them being locked shut ready for departure.

The conductor approached the group and asked to leave the train. He was then verbally abused by the group of three males and one female.

Following the torrent of abuse, one of the men in the group approached the guard, threatening him before grabbing him around the neck. He then attempted to head butt the guard.

The guard managed to move away from the group and the service continued to Westbury.

The guard experienced pain in his neck and shoulder area following the assault.

Officers would like to speak with the man shown in the CCTV images as his might have information that could help them investigate.
