Woman sentenced for stealing £1,000 worth of make-up - Newcastle

A woman has been sentenced to 13 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, for stealing more than £1,000 worth of products from Boots at Newcastle central station.

Kylie Wilde, aged 37, of Coach Road Green, Felling, Gateshead, was found guilty of two counts of theft.

She was sentenced at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court on 10 January.

The thefts took place on 7 and 8 May last year when she stole more than £1000 worth of items, mainly Boots No 7 products.

Wilde was recognised after a BTP witness appeal was published, and she was eventually arrested and charged with the offences.

She was sentenced to 13 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months and given a four week curfew order.

Investigating officer, Det Con Graham Marshall, said: “Shoplifting from retail outlets at railway stations will not be tolerated by BTP. Wilde is a prolific offender and her conviction is the result of a lot of hard work by officers at Newcastle.”
