The court case against a British Transport Police officer was this week dismissed by magistrates.

Chief Inspector Chris Maddox appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Monday (8 December), charged with one count of obstructing a police constable whilst off duty, in a Thames Valley Police-led investigation.

Magistrates heard the evidence and concluded there was no case to answer.

Now the Thames Valley Police case has been finalised, the BTP Professional Standards Department will conduct an assessment to identify if there were any breaches of the standards of professional behaviour.
