Do you recognise this man?

We’d like to speak with him in relation to a theft on a train between Manchester Piccadilly and Stockport.

At around 6.50pm on 16 December, a man was seen walking through the 4.40pm train from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly.

Passengers reported that the man was pretending to be a ticket inspector.

He approached a woman and dropped a number of items of rubbish on the table in front of her, before picking up the rubbish and moving away.

The victim then realised that her phone was missing. The offender left the train at Piccadilly.

Officers would like to speak to the man as they believe he may have information which could help the investigation.
