Officers are appealing for information following an assault at Bookham station, Surrey, on Christmas Eve.

At around 11pm on Sunday (24/12), the victim – a 26-year-old man – was in the cab office at the station when a man came in and attacked him.

The assault, which was unprovoked, left the victim with a fractured skull and requiring urgent hospital treatment. He is still in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The offender then stole the victim’s phone and smashed the windows of the office.

He was white, around 5ft 8ins tall and around 25 to 28-years-old. He was dressed all in black and had a black face covering over his mouth.

There was believed to be another man in his company who did not enter the office.

Investigator Rachel Parfitt said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack which left the victim in a critical condition in hospital.
“Were you near the station at the time, or do you know anything about what happened? Please let us know as soon as you can.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, with reference 412 of 24 December.
