A 40-year-old woman has been sentenced to 13 months in prison, after pleading guilty to assaulting a man at Glasgow Central Station and stealing his wallet.

Donna Henry, of Mireton Street in Glasgow, was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday, after pleading guilty to assault and robbery at the same court on 22 November.

On 7 April 2015, Henry followed a man from the cash machines on Gordon Street and into the station. She then threatened him and pushed him, before stealing his wallet, along with the cash he’d just taken from the cash machine, in the Gordon Street entrance to the station.

Henry was identified from CCTV images at the station and was subsequently arrested.

Det Sgt Marc Francey said: “This was a nasty and targeted assault on a man who had just taken cash from the machine, and was followed into the station.

“I am happy that Henry now has time behind bars to reflect on her actions.”
