Do you recognise this man? We’d like to speak to him in connection with a theft at Newcastle Central station.

At around 2.30pm on Saturday 28 October, the victim, a 47-year-old man, used the cash machine on platform 2 to withdraw £100.

After the money was dispensed, he turned away to place his cash card back in his wallet and at this point a man moved in and took the cash from the cash point.

The victim informed the man that it was his cash but the other man refused to return it, saying he was going to hand it in to police..

There was a verbal disagreement and the offender walked away and left the station towards Neville Street.

Officers would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV images as he may have information which could help the investigation.

If you recognise him, or have any other information about the incident, please call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference number 1700077642.
