We are appealing for information after a man was assaulted at Reading West railway station.

At around 7.30pm on Monday 30 October, the victim, a 31-year-old man, was standing on the platform when he was approached by another man who began shouting and swearing at him.

The offender then punched the victim in the head repeatedly. The victim raised his arms to cover his face and the offender bit the victim’s finger.

He sustained a deep laceration to his finger and required hospital treatment.

The victim managed to continue his journey to Basingstoke station where he was met by police.

The offender is a white man, around 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins, aged in his early twenties, He was wearing a hooded top.
