Officers have launched an investigation after an arson attack at Loughborough station.

The incident happened shortly after 2am on 28 October.

A man approached the cycle racks and attempted to steal a moped using tools. After a short while of attempting to steal the moped the man was unable to.

The man then removed the petrol cap to the moped and pushed it over before lighting a rag and igniting the spilt petrol.

This created a large fire which has caused damage and destroyed numerous pedal cycles locked in the area as well as damaging the shelter itself.

Officers would now like to speak to the person in the CCTV as they believe he has information that could help with their investigation.

Anyone with any information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 citing reference 112 of 28/10.
