Officers have launched an appeal following an incident where two men were racially abused.

The incident happened on 4 November on board the 4.50pm service from Glasgow Central to Lanark between Uddingston and Wishaw.

At approximately 5pm to 5.25pm a man began to loudly make racial comments about two Polish men who had just left the service at Uddingston station.

After this the man continued to make racial comments on the service before leaving the train at Wishaw.

The train was busy at the time with adults and children, some of who moved or alighted early from the service due to the man’s behaviour and comments. Officers would be looking to speak with anyone who was on board this train and saw what happened.

In particular, officers would like to speak to a man who is described as a white, wearing an orange hoodie and in the company of two other men. They were seated in the front of the three car set by the toilets.

Anyone with any information should contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 citing reference 428 of 04/11.
