Officers have launched an investigation following an incident in which two men sustained serious head injuries at Oxford Circus Underground station.

The incident happened on 5 November at 11.15am.

A group of eight to 12 men and women left the southbound Bakerloo line.

At 11.15am the group became involved in an altercation with two white men, resulting in one man being knocked unconscious and a second man injured.

Both men suffered injuries with one man sustaining serious head injuries. He was taken to hospital and treated for bleeding and swelling on the brain and a fractured skull, he still remains in hospital in a life threatening and life changing condition.

The second man received cuts to his head and has since been discharged from hospital.

Officers would now like to speak to the people in the CCTV images as they believe they may have information that could help with the investigation.

Detective Inspector Gabriel Oresajo said: “This was an unprovoked attack on two men who were going about their travel. Everyone has the right to travel on the rail network without fear of crime. I am keen to speak to anyone with any information, no matter how big or small the detail may seem.”
