We are releasing CCTV images of a man officers would like to speak to in connection with an incident of criminal damage at Lichfield City railway station.

At around 3.30am on Monday 28 August (Bank Holiday Monday), a man who had been sleeping in the booking hall of the station attempted to break in to the ticket machine.

He used a crowbar and then a concrete block to smash the ticket machine and try to break it open.

He also smashed a window at the station and damaged a cupboard door.

The offender was eventually disturbed at around 5.30am by a newspaper delivery man. The offender then ran up to the platform, jumped across the tracks and ran off into some bushes.

The cost of the damage is estimated at over £900.

Officers would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV images as he may have information which could help the investigation.

If you know who he is or have any other information, please call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016.
